Marcia “Marci,” a native of Independence, Virginia, brings a deep appreciation for the resilience and values of rural Appalachia into her work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who earned her Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Development from Virginia Tech and her Master’s degree in Applied Social Science from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Her work is grounded in a developmental and attachment-focused perspective, recognizing how early experiences shape relationships, resilience, and lifelong well-being. Marci uses an integrative approach, drawing from CBT, ACT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring treatment to each person’s unique strengths and goals. Marci recognizes the courage, effort, and time it takes to pursue positive change. She views counseling as a collaborative process. Marci is grateful for the trust and confidence her clients place in her as she joins them on their journey. Outside of her professional life, Marci enjoys spending time with family, friends, and being outdoors.
