Angela Krider, MSW, LCSW, serves as AppHealthCare’s Primary Care Behavioral Health Specialist & Behavioral Health Consultant at Alleghany Health Center. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and works alongside primary care providers to support whole-person health. Through same-day consultations and brief follow-up visits, Angela helps patients develop practical strategies for managing stress, sleep, mood, health behaviors, and everyday challenges.
As part of the primary care team, Angela provides brief, practical support rather than traditional long-term therapy, helping patients build skills that support both their mental and physical health. She works with patients experiencing a wide range of concerns– from stress, anxiety, depression, and sleep difficulties to chronic pain and the challenges of living with chronic medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes. Angela collaborates closely with the healthcare team to integrate behavioral health into routine primary care and brings experience from academic primary care and interdisciplinary clinical training environments.
Originally from Hawai’i, Angela believes health is shaped not only by medical conditions, but also by culture, daily routines, relationships, and community. Her approach is collaborative, down-to-earth, and grounded in meeting people where they are.
