I am originally from Arkansas where I received my undergraduate and medical education. I moved to NC in 2007 to attend a residency at MAHEC in Asheville. After residency, I spent a year working at a bush hospital in northern Ghana in West Africa. Upon returning, I worked temporarily in Madison County, NC, before getting married and moving to Neah Bay, WA, to live and work on the Makah Reservation with my wife. We returned to NC in 2015 and moved to Alleghany County for proximity to other family in NC while still living in the mountains. We have lived here since. We have two young boys who love being outside on the trails! Professionally, I enjoy living in and serving rural communities with a wider scope of primary care than exists in many big-city practices. I generally enjoy exercise, primarily running on the Blue Ridge Parkway and participating in triathlons.
