I am originally from Iowa but have called Boone home since 2006. I began my medical career when I received my BSN degree from a small school in Iowa. I then worked for three years as a labor and delivery nurse at a large hospital in Des Moines. After 20+ years of being an Iowa girl, I decided to escape the cold winters and I headed south to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While getting my masters degree there I met my husband Robbie who was a Boone native. He convinced me that there was no place better than Boone and we moved here after we both graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2006. I began working at the Watauga County Health Department that summer and I have never left! I currently work part time for the health department and am a full time mother of three young children. When I am not changing diapers, doing laundry, cooking or cleaning, I enjoy quality time with my family and friends, hiking, golfing, cooking, and watching movies. I am currently active in Boone Service League, PEO (a philanthropic organization that promotes education for women) and am a member of Grace Lutheran Church. As a provider here I have enjoyed being able to establish a relationship with many of my patients over the years.
