Behavioral health services are available through integrated care, outpatient therapy and telehealth
AppHealthCare is expanding access to behavioral health services, making it easier for individuals across Alleghany, Ashe, and Watauga counties to receive compassionate, evidence-based mental healthcare close to home.
Recognizing that mental health is an essential part of overall health, AppHealthCare’s Behavioral Health program offers personalized care for those experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, grief, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), sleep difficulties, perinatal and postpartum mental health concerns, and challenges related to chronic illness or major life transitions.
“Our goal is to ensure that everyone in our communities has access to high-quality behavioral healthcare when they need it,” said Marisa Schorr, Chief Behavioral Health Officer, AppHealthCare. “Whether someone is navigating a difficult season of life or managing an ongoing mental health condition, our team is here to provide compassionate, evidence-based support that promotes healing and overall well-being.”
AppHealthCare offers behavioral health services in several ways to meet the unique needs of patients by offering both in-person and telehealth appointments.
Every patient begins with a confidential phone screening that helps determine the behavioral health service and provider best suited to their needs. Following the screening, patients work collaboratively with their care team to develop an individualized treatment plan focused on their goals, strengths, and overall wellness.
One of the distinguishing features of AppHealthCare’s Behavioral Health program is its integrated approach to care. This means providers collaborate to coordinate treatment, improve communication, and address the connection between physical and mental health.
To ensure care remains accessible, AppHealthCare accepts most insurance plans and offers options for individuals who are uninsured or have concerns about their ability to pay. Staff members are available to answer questions regarding insurance coverage, eligibility, and financial assistance programs.
“Seeking support is a sign of strength,” said Marisa Schorr. “We want people to know they are not alone. Taking the first step toward better mental health can make a meaningful difference, and we’re honored to walk alongside our patients throughout that journey.”
