Mobile Health Services

Mobile Health Services aims to increase access and deliver high-quality, compassionate healthcare in the most rural parts of our communities.

Access to care was identified by the community as a top health priority in the 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment. In an effort to address this need and improve health outcomes, mobile health services are recommended to serve populations with limited access to health care. As such, AppHealthCare seeks to expand access to care by offering mobile health services to deliver medical care, dental care, and mental health care throughout our three-county district where it can provide convenience for our community.

Mobile Health Bus

The bus is a 38-foot converted recreational vehicle (RV) with slide-outs for two exam rooms, waiting area, laboratory, and bathroom. The mobile health bus is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act by offering a wheelchair lift and ample space for mobility. The mobile health unit comes equipped with an electricity hookup, water hookup and wifi unit. If a hookup is unavailable while in the community setting, the unit is able to self-power with an onboard generator and water tank with gray water and fresh water supply.

Services

We offer comprehensive primary medical care, dental care, and behavioral health care on the mobile health bus. Some medical and dental procedures needing a higher level of care may be referred to our existing health center locations in each county.

We will accept both scheduled appointments and walk-in same-day visits.

We accept all insurances and offer a discount sliding fee scale with payment plans. Services are available regardless of someone’s ability to pay.

Important Note: The bus’s ability to travel depends on weather conditions. The bus will not be able to travel in inclement weather like snow and ice. Any changes to the bus’s schedule will be communicated on the calendar and on our social media accounts.

Interested in having the mobile bus at your event, business, or location?

We are seeking sites that are well-known community hubs that are willing to partner with us to offer healthcare services on their property. Given the size of our mobile health bus, we are looking for a site with ample parking, both for the bus, as well as our staff and patients. Ideally, the site will be relatively level with a paved surface to limit any trip hazards. Also, road access to the site must be conducive to navigation of a large RV.
